The Challenge: From a small workshop to a big company
A few significant dates summarize the company growth from the early years to present day.
1927
Rancilio establishes the "Officine meccaniche RR" and the first espresso machine comes to the market..
1939-1945
Rancilio steadily increases its production and becomes a leader on the Italian market.
1965
The model Z8, the famous espresso machine designed by the well known designer Marco Zanuso, is launched on the market.
1972
The company continues growing in international markets. New production facilities are opened at Villastanza di Parabiago near Milan.
1974
Production of the Z9 begins, strengthening the company?s leadership in world markets.
1975
Rancilio obtains the patent for the espresso coffee machine with electronic operation control.
1981
Headquarter facilities are expanded, production output is doubled and a household line of espresso coffee machines appears on the market. From this date the growth on world markets goes on and the company brand is acknowledged as a world leader in this field. A representative office covering the Far-East countries is opened in Australia.
1999
A branch company for close support of the US business operations is opened in Chicago.
2003
The first Spanish branch company is opened in Barcelona.

New products have been launched in recent times; from the innovative and modern espresso coffee machine Epoca to the fashionable Class 10 with full aluminium body, from the extremely hi-tech design of Class 8 to the modern and essential Class 6.

2006
Rancilio takes a share of Egro Swiss Coffee Systems and now offers the finest in both traditional and super-automatic espresso machines.  The Egro products add the ultimate in streamlined efficiency to our line.
2008
Rancilio acquired the majority of shares in Egro Coffee Systems AG. Thanks to this strategic alliance, which is unique in this industry, Rancilio now offers many more options by blending the Italian excellence in manufacturing traditional coffee machines with the Swiss expertise of fully-automatic machines.
