The official opening of Officina Rancilio 1926
We are pleased to inform you that on Friday 8th of October 2010 it will be cut the tape to open officially the Officina Rancilio, the first museum of an Italian coffee machines company. Officina Rancilio 1926 is a cultural project designed to introduce people to the historical heritage, the collection and the archives of the Rancilio brand from Parabiago. The museum is housed in a renovated building formerly used by Rancilio, and the exhibition tells the story of the company from 1926 up to present day. Officina Rancilio 1926 intends to look after, safeguard and cultivate the company?s historical heritage and archives. This heritage currently comprises thousands of documents including photographs, papers and an almost complete collection of coffee machines made by the Rancilio factory from 1927 to present day. Officina Rancilio 1926 plans to be a place that will promote, maximise and research the culture of industry and business. By taking a trip back through history and by promoting modern-day temporary exhibitions, competitions, award ceremonies, courses and research, the museum would like to be of service to local residents, tourists, students, researchers, academics, people who work in this industry and to anyone who is interested in learning more about corporate history and culture. One very import aspect is represented by Rancilio?s strong ties with the local area. Officina Rancilio 1926 aims to act as a cultural interface for a modern factory that is playing an active role in maximising and enhancing the area?s industrial culture. Officina Rancilio is a member of Museimpresa, the Italian Association of Company Archives and Museums, and also offers advice and items on loan to help projects associated with the culture of coffee and business and organises guided tours for enthusiasts, industry personnel and members of the public.
